We stayed at Colter Bay Village lodge and were not impressed. I guess if you want to save a few dollars while you visiting the Grand Tetons this is your place. We were attracted by the pictures of Colter Bay; however, when got there the lake was down and the marina was closed. They do have an excellent restaurant, but everything else needs improvement.

Most campsites are in a rustic setting, helping to blend with nature. Plenty of room in a forest setting. Must visit the lodge for a view of the lake and marina.

This Village is one of the most beautiful spots in Grand Teton. We spent the night in a cabin, had a great meal at the Ranch House. However, we walked down to see the marina, so beautifully pictured as we researched Teton before our visit. Surprisingly, the marina was bone dry. We discovered that the lake is lowered at the end of the summer in preparation for winter and later runoff from the expected snow pack. Still the view of the mountains from here are worth the visit and the walk. If you are going to visit after Labor Day, don't expect to see water in the village.
The lodging (cabins) here are reasonably priced and so comfy. It is a rustic cabin but so relaxing and we slept great! The staff in the lodging off were so friendly and helpful. We wish we had planned more than one night at Colter Bay. The location is near Oxbow Bend and not to be missed at sunrise for breathtaking views, photos and wildlife.

What you won't discover (from the gtlc.com website) until you arrive is the cramped density of the full-hookup RV sites. The owners have squeezed 112 sites into just an acre or two (if that). While I own a modest unit, those with larger RVs are challenged to navigate into their assigned space.

I live in Colorado and have visited numerous RV parks with various density level, but nothing like this. What grates is the owner's, management's, and staff's efforts to conceal the high density of the campsites. Let customers make a fully informed decision!

Scan the Colter Bay Village RV PARK Information and Services brochure (which you receive when you arrive and shows the shoe-horned/packed sites) and place it on the website. Stop defrauding the public!

Yep, that good. Great sites in the trees, next to the lake. Spots could be a little more level, but everyone I saw got their rigs leveled. There is the largest campground store I've ever seen. They have fresh fruit, fresh meat, plus full selection of canned goods, camping supplies, etc.

There are two restaurants at the campground. One sort of fast food place, but the other is spectacular. Near fine dining at a campground, not what you'd expect. Try the margaritas, really great. Just wish we could get back more often.
