The walk is very pretty and well worth the effort. It is a bit of a hike but well worth the effort if you soak up the views as you go. Wearing good boots is a must on a hike such as this as is taking plenty of water.

This hike is gorgeous. If you want the full experience, then do what we did -- start at the trailhead at the south parking lot of Jenny Lake (don't take the boat across). From the parking lot to Inspiration Point (just past Hidden Falls), it's about 6 miles roundtrip. My boyfriend and I are pretty fit so it took us 3 hours at a good pace. The lower part of the trail was closed so we had to take the upper trail which I'm so thankful for since you get a higher view of the lake. I recommend starting early (no later than 10am in the offseason). I don't know about you, but I like being one of the only ones on the trail so going up we were alone but going down there were about 10 different groups of hikers. I heard in the peak season this trail is packed so probably want to start around 8am if you want true tranquility. We did a few other hikes (namely Phelps Lake and around Jackson Lake) but they don't compare to this one. This trail also branches off to Cascade Canyon (which we will do when we come back) and you can also keep going past Inspiration Point and complete the trail around the lake which is probably around 12 miles.

Loved the opportunity to take the boat shuttle across the lake and hike for a couple of hours. We hiked to both the hidden falls--gorgeous, and to inspiration point. Must say the hike to the point was a little challenging for an active middle age woman. Maybe the.altitude?

This trek is not for the faint of heart or sneaker. The usual trail is closed and the detour requires a lot of climbing but it is gorgeous and so worth the time. We started at the marina and went around the lake (about 3 miles) to Cascade Canyon and waterfalls. The extra trek up to the falls is a must. Downhill from the falls is the Ferry which takes one back to the marina (for a $7 fee one way) or the complete trek around Jenny Lake is about 7 miles. One view is more beautiful than the next Our cameras were busy! This walk is so peaceful and inspiring. A visit to Grand Teton National Park isn't grand if you miss this! Enjoy!

We hiked around the lake (starting near ferry dock) for just about 40 minutes on a chilly September day. The mountains look amazing as a backdrop to the clean water (you can see the colorful river rocks pretty far out from the shore). We got lucky and had a view of a beautiful rainbow over the lake. Some deer near parking lot. Pretty area even on a cloudy day. Restrooms with pit toilets available, visitor center/nice bathrooms are closed for season.
