“Colter Bay RV Park”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

Colter Bay Village is an excellent location when visiting Grand Teton National Park. It was easy to find and had no problems getting in and out of the RV Park with 34' Fifth Wheel camper. The gals in the check in office were very friendly and helpful while checking in and with other questions that we had about the park. The RV spots are pretty tight but we weren't there to stay at the campsite during the day. We had a pull through spot with full hookups and a picnic table. We utilized the campsite for cooking dinner in the evening and sleeping. The campground was very quiet and peaceful. Our site was an easy walk to the shore of Jackson Lake and the store/laundry/restaurant area of the Village.

The CBV is definitely at an advantageous location for a quick and easy drive to the sites. The front desk staff were polite, courteous and very helpful and the check in and out were smooth. We also had a hearty and delicious complimentary breakfast at the Ranch House Restaurant. I simply fell for the rustic log cabin that we were accommodated in. The cabin was roomy with large floorspace. There were two queen beds and another single bed, three chairs, two bed side tables, lamps, one dressing table and an open hanging closet. Interestingly, the log cabin history hung on wall. Though small, the bathroom was clean and had every basic amenity but a blow dryer. I totally loved the proximity towards nature and seclusion from gadgets and technology that the stay had to offer. But off course internet is accessible from or near the check in cabin if that needs to be used. Watching the starry sky was a delight while taking the night stroll. An escape from the busy life amidst woods couldn't have been better and I definitely recommend this place for a great stay.

We visited Colter Bay Village THREE times this summer. June, August and September and it just got better each time. Centrally located, it also has much to offer without leaving the village itself. Its perfect for families and couples and just friends. The staff and workers are helpful and courteous. We cant say enough good things to describe how much we like it here. We camped in our travel trailer in the basic campground and then in September in the RV park. Both are wonderful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!

Thank you for reviewing Colter Bay Village. I am so glad you enjoyed all three of your stays this summer, and that you were able to experience both the campground and the RV park. We look forward to seeing you again next season!

We stayed in a two room cabin for the holiday weekend. These are rustic cabins, which is what I like. They are not for everybody that expects carpeted floors and tiled baths. The 2rm cabin was surprisingly large with 2 full sized beds in each room. you could have slept a dozen people in it, if you used the floorspace and sleeping bags. the rooms had heaters for those cool nights and mornings. The cabin was clean and the bathroom was clean. The only reason for the 4 out of 5 rating was the groundskeeping. They should keep the grounds better aorund the cabins. the stairs leading to the cabins are like a rough path. This was a little too rough for my elderly in-laws to be walking on. they also have trees growing out from under the foundations. I know the National Park service has policies in place about keeping things as natural as posible, but they also need to keep them updated and safe as well. They should also provde a place to sit outside the cabin, like a bench, chair or even better a picnic table. This way you can enjoy the great outdoors at night without trying to pull up a comfortable piece of ground that does not exist. They do have benchs and rustic seating options at the lodging in Yellowstone, so they should be able to provide a little here in GTNP as well Over all we had a great stay. the staff was very helpfull and friendly

We stayed 7 days in our 35 foot fifth wheel with full hook ups. The campsites are spacious and rustic. The campground is located perfectly, you are within 35 miles of Jackson and 20 miles of Yellowstone national park. Very Bear aware!! I was sent to the principles office for leaving an empty cooler outside my camper so be aware they will bust you if you slip up! LOL! This campground also had clean restrooms, laundry room and showers. Also has a very nice grocery store on site. Very reasonably priced. Better fill er up before you get in the park! Paid 4.50 a gallon for diesel!!

Cabin includes all of your basics: bed, table, lamp, 3 chairs, open hanging closet. Bathroom is decent, not too clean but includes shampoo, body wash, and hand soap. (I wish I knew that before so I wouldn't have packed my own). The views & setting in Grand Teton are so stunning that who really cares about dirt in your bathroom. My only complaint was that the shower curtain was moldy & smelly, so it made the bathroom smell like mold too. Beware, the walls are very thin. I could hear everything the couple next door was saying. I highly recommend getting your own private bathroom.

The general store is very convenient. There is a filtered water station at all of the lodges & airport, so you only have to take a refillable water bottle (I wish I knew that too, so I wouldn't have bought expensive bottles with a filter inside it).

Overall, very convenient location & good price compared to others. I would recommend the Colter Bay cabins to anyone wanting the basics to enjoy nature, not having to spend too much money on accommodations, and want basic conveniences a step up from staying in a tent, but still getting the rustic, outdoorsy feeling. Definitely I'd stay again.

Room Tip: Definitely get a private bathroom.

The Coulter by RV park has great pull through camping spots. It is clean, and well maintained with all hook ups included in the somewhat high price. We enjoyed the convenience to Grand Teton national forest, and riding our motorcycles around the Jenny's Lake loop.
