just finished two night stay at the maswick lodge. The maswick lodge is one of four lodges located on the south rim of the canyon and its all about the location. thre lodge is located in the grand canyon national park and therefore you are about a five minute walk from the lodge to the rim of the canyon and the start of the bright angel trail.
Bright angel and El Tavor have slightly better locations to the canyon as you can literally see the canyon from most of the hotel rooms at these resorts but maswick is the next best thing.
Maswick has an excellent food court, perfect for kids with lots of options from pizza to burgers.
as for the accommodations, they are very dated but clean and neat. you dont stay at Maswick for the accommodations but for the location.
i gave a four star rating for the location and convenience only. the lodge is old but kept neat. if you are looking for more luxurious accommodations, el Tavor is better but room rates are about 30 percent higher.
shuttle stops are centrally located at the lobby and you can get to anywhere in the park.
stay here only if you want to be within walking distance of the canyon. luxury is not a characteristic of this lodge.More
