The hotel is right on the rim of the canyon which for me gives it a four star rating. But the downside to this is perhaps the hotel doesn't have to try too hard.
Parking is horrendous....we were lucky on arrival to grab a spot but this meant dragging our suitcases quite a distance to the hotel...also you do not feel like moving the car again to explore. No lifts in the hotel means lugging heavy suitcases up and down stairs...or you may be lucky and find the one porter.
The common rooms are atmospheric and the dining room lovely.......after sampling food in three other national parks the menu here was a really nice surprise and the service excellent.
Which finally brings us to the bedrooms....ours..temptingly called a terrace room seemed no different from any others and was shabby and worn and a bit smelly. However it wuss clean and OK for two nights.
If we ever returned I think we would go for something a bit more modern and use the free shuttle service to get about
