If you're looking for a historic experience then the El Tovar is the place. The rooms aren't large, but have just enough space and let's face it you don't spend a whole lot of time in the room anyway.
I especially enjoyed the common space upstairs where we were able to sit with our computers, people watch and have a drink. The porches outside are also furnished with benches, swings, and rockers, so that the canyon can be enjoyed in comfort.
The restaurant it upscale and we enjoyed dinner there. For breakfast we simply strolled down the rim to another hotel. There are also several gift shops on the main floor and a cocktail lounge. The hunter's lodge feel with seating also adds to the atmosphere.
Perfect location to the rim, buses, train, museums and other venues!More
