It is basically the only place to eat other than the deli, but as another reviewer wrote ... you don't go to the Grand Canyon for the food!

Took a booking at short notice and we were able to see the sunset while eating. Felt a little rushed, but managed to delay the dessert to enjoy the view for longer.

The food was great. You must make a reservation for dinner or you will be waiting and waiting. No problem getting in for breakfast or lunch for dinner was hard. Love everything we ate; trout, chicken dishes, breakfast, hamburgers. It was all good.

After the excellent meal at the Bryce Canyon Lodge, we were hoping for more from the Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge Dining Room. Yes there were white table cloths and appropriately attentive well dressed waiters, but the food was merely ok. The best dish was the prime rib. Side dishes were bland and over salted. Nonetheless, for a sit down meal, it is really the only option. You can order the same food from the bar on the back terrace if it is warm enough to sit outside. Try to get your reservations for 1/2 hour before sunset and be prepared for a beautiful show through your dinner. Once the sun is down they open the west blinds and you can get some wonderful colors on a hazy day.

To sit and sip cocktails and eat a lovely steak whilst watching the sun go down over the Grand Canyon was one of the most surreal experiences I have ever had. The bread provided at the start of the meal was a lovely start and the steak was tender and perfectly cooked. Lovely waiter with a great sense of humour.
