“Nothing really to see”
Review of Tusayan Ruin Walk

Tusayan Ruin Walk
Reviewed March 30, 2012

You can visit the museum and the ruins free, no fees. However, the ruins were minimal and disappointing. There were brochures available that describe the site but there’s nothing really to see. The museum itself was very small with very few items to show. Bathrooms were good if you need to stop here.

We stopped here and quickly walked through a short trail that had only few rocks to see. The kids were completely bored and I was disappointed that we even spent 5-10 minutes here. Don't waste your time stopping here; save it for one of the many other worthwhile stops. If you want to see some truly good Indian ruins that even the kids enjoyed, go to Wupatki and/or Walnut Canyon outside of Flagstaff.

Where just a few piles of rock on the ground... If you have a really good imagination you will see a house... There was just nothing to see. But it was not really big so it did'nt take long before we were back.

We found this interesting but not something we would go out of our way to see. If you are in the area and have time then it may be worth the stop but if you are running behind I say skip over it, you aren't missing to much. As I said we did find it interesting and has signs posted as to what you are seeing including plants which were very helpful. There are also brochures available that discribe what you are looking at which again is helpful.

We had driven up from Sedona and wished we would have skipped that to spend more time at Wupatki which we ran out of time and had to cut this one short due to their closing. :( I think it took us about 1/2 hour to go through and their little office was not opened and neither was their restrooms. :) But hay it's free!!!

The ruins were pretty minimal, you had to read about them to really visualize what they looked like. Don't go out of your way to see this.
