“Do not miss this one!”

Amazing colors and views. Tall stones, trails, trees and cliffs, view on both sides, places to sit and enjoy gorgeous walls of a Grand Canyon. Eagles and turkey vultures flying below, just beautiful.

“Simply Beautiful”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

This a one of the places you need to stop. It was the site of the first Canyon hotel, regrettably gone, as is the short time profitable copper mine. The view, howeve, still remains and the beauty is still beyond words. Simply beautiful.

“Spectacular!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

We visited this site at sunset and wow! What a site. Thoroughly fantastic view incorporating so many aspects of the Canyon itself. Make time to do the 10 mile drive from Mather Point, it's definitely worth it despite the lack of shuttle bus out this far.

“Typical great view from a Grand Canyon overlook, but also with some history”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

This stop on the East Rim Drive was the site of the Grand View Hotel that was constructed in 1898 and was the most popular destination for tourists in the earliest years of the twentieth century. Almost nothing is now left of it, but there is still a popular trail that begins here. And, yes, the view is grand and worth the extra few minutes to see it during your visit to the canyon.
