We visited during monsoon season and there was rain. We braved the weather and were rewarded with a beautiful sunset with very few people. Because of the weather, many people chose not to go out in the rain. We didn't have to fight for a spot! What an awesome spot. I highly recommend riding the bus out to this point and enjoying it.

PROS: a great location for photographing sunset and sunrise views of the canyon; be sure to arrive early to get the best spots.

CONS: can be crowded.

one of the best points to be when you want to see the sunrise or sunset. You can either walk to this point from the bright angel lodge or take the red line shuttle bus.

Hopi point is on the red line and is within easy walking distance from Powell point. A walk that opens up a few more views of this wondrous place. Or just take the next shuttle West bound.

Stay at one of the lodges or hotels, use the shuttle and go here early in the morning or later int he evening. You will be glad you did. We watched the sunset, along with loads of other people. The shuttle was packed going to the point but we opted to stay a bit later and the throngs were pretty much gone. To see the Grand Canyon in the evening light, without the hustle and bustle of the large boisterous groups was great.

If I was to go back, I would probably rent a bike for the day so I could see the Canyon from more of the western viewpoints.
