This may be the best spot in the park to take sunrise pictures, it is also pretty good for sunset. We also took some pretty cool night shots of the canyon with the stars. Make sure you bring a tripod and a heavier than you would expect jacket for the sunrise. My wife and I visit the park often. We have found that the Grand Canyon has a different look throughout the seasons. Winter and monsoon seasons are our favorite.

We took the orange line shuttle bus to get to this point and have a few wow moment before we took dozens of photos. Not as crowded as the others point makes here the better shooting point...

Went with the first shuttle bus to catch the sunrise. Beautiful view of the canyon and not a lot of people. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite spot for taking photos at sunrise or sunset. The colors are the best here. Be sure to shot your pictures from both directions to get all the colors.
