“Great view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

This is a great place to see the geological process of the canyon, as well as a short summary of the canyons modern (human) history. This is a great place to start the south rim tour, and there is heaps of parking around.

“Make the effort the rewards are worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013

There is a fairly large car park here and a short walk uphill to the rim. The observation point is full of wonderful information and exhibits. You could easily spend half an hour in here - even if your not interested in geology. We took twenty minute walks each side of the hut but always seemed to come back to it. The sun was going down and so we just plonked ourselves on the wall and cuddled as duck fell. It was magical.

“Interesting Viewing Spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

Located on the orange shuttle route, this is a nice spot to view the canyon and the river. It is a little out of the way and much less crowed than Mather Point. Good spot to view sunrise or sunset. If you have strong binoculars or a good telephoto camera lens, you can see the walking trail bridge that crosses the Colorado River. The museum has interesting information on the forming of the canyon.

“Excellent sunset views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

I watched the sunset over the north rim of the Grand Canyon from Yavapai point - the canyon is at its widest here - 18 miles - and it's some view. I'm not sure whether this is better than Mather point or not they are different but both fabulous

“Amazing views near Yavapai Lodge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

We watched a breathtaking sunrise AND sunset from this broad vantage point, which seemed to be less frequented than other scenic spots closer to the village. Shuttles run here but it takes only two minutes to drive from Yavapai Lodge. In mid-May parking wasn't a problem and the views were truly unforgettable. Also enjoyed the exhibits and panoramic windows inside the geology museum.
