Wide, well-maintained & easy to use. Whether you're a top athlete or a parent with kid in backpack, this trail holds great views from the rim w/o traversing challenging footing.

We took the shuttle to the last stop and walked back. The weather was great so it was an easy walk. Make sure you have enough water.

Spectacular views all the way - an easy walk but do not miss it or dismiss it just because it runs along a road and there are bus stops en route!

I hiked east and west from the visitor center. I thought the west trail that goes out to Hermit's rest was the best. The trail that goes from the Bright Angel trailhead to Hermit's rest is 7 miles long. You can hike it, bike it, or take the free shuttle that stops at the major points along the way. I hiked the 7 miles to Hermit's rest and took the shuttle back. The rim trail is great. It dances along the R&I of the canyon. Sometimes it is over 15-20 feet from the rim. At a few points you are literally 1 foot from the edge of the canyon. The views are fantastic. I would recommend this trail to anyone who is looking for a nice day trip in the park. The canyon is truly magnificent and this trail showcases the beauty.

Any and all the trails along the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon are well worth your attention. The trails are for the most part easy walking with rails by any stairways and places to sit and rest along the way. The views are breathtaking
