Great time to visit breath taking views but trails into the canyon were snow and ice covered so no hiking unless you are prepared with spiked shoes

The Grand Canyon lives up to its name. It is grand indeed. Go for a walk and enjoy the views. I walked about 3 miles along the Rim Trail and enjoyed the spectacular scenery. Be sure to take the time to enjoy the park's many attractions.
This is bucket list stuff. Once in a lifetime. Something every US resident and foreign visitor should see. Its that awesome.
The Grand Canyon is such an amazing place to visit. It its hard to capture the depth and width of it in photographs. Definitely recommend visiting the North Rim.
All so epic that I was lost for words here. The views and places to see took my breath away and left me with a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. A must visit place if you are in the area. Nothing can beat the real life views.
Ok, I get it.
There is so much beauty here that we can never express what we saw, but we can express how we saw it.
For many of us we do not have the time to walk the length of the south rim to the Hermit rest or the Look out Tower to the east.. As a train traveler we did not have the luxury of a car so what did we do?
We took Shuttles provided by the National park Service. These shuttles were driven by dedicated, professional men and women who are there to get us from point A to point B, safely, quickly and diplomatically.
We saw first hand how well the drivers deal with hundreds of visitors from other countries who had little or no knowledge of our language. We saw driver who had foreign visitors standing at the shuttle doors while trying to find out where they were or how to get to where they wanted to go. These drivers face these situations every day they are behind the wheel and deal with them diplomatically. Most will still still take time to point out points of interest or locations of the local wildlife.
Hats off to the shuttle drivers and thank you for you service.
