I recommend staying a few nights, at least. If the weather is rainy or snowing, the clouds will sink into the warmer canyon and you won't be able to see anything. Because you have to book so far ahead of time, you can't be sure what the weather will be like. Booking a multi-day visit gives you a better chance for seeing that wonderful view. Also, it gives you more time to hike or to visit all the lookouts and museums.

The South Rim is bicycle friendly, which is a great option for getting around especially in the busier months, when there are can be long waits for the shuttle bus.

Do I need to say this is a bucket-list item at least once? Drive the while road from one end to the other, or walk, or bike, just don't fall into the canyon, because there are lots of places where you can, so be careful. There are no words and no pictures that capture the immensity of it. Go see it before it's too late.

Grand Canyon National Park is a Must-see with you are in Arizona, one of the world's most stunning places for sure. Its South Rim is the one with more infrastructure to host tourists, there's a line of shuttle buses that take visitors from the city of Tusayan to the National Park Itself, which is very convenient considering that parking inside the park is limited, and allow you to explore the various points of interest with no hassle and some information from the friendly bus drivers.
Tusayan also is home to a very good gift shop, fast food restaurants and a movie teather, that exhibits a short film about the way the Grand Canyon Area was explored by pioneers, native americans and spanish.
I hiked the Bright Angel Trail in little less than 5 hours, and was able to get up close and personal with nature and all its peculiar beauty in that place, which gives you more information, good pictures and everlasting memories than only taking a photograph from the edge of the cliff. I couldn't make all the way to the Colorado River, due to the late hour I started the hike, but was able to go all the way until Indian Garden Camping Ground. It was awesome.
The day I watched the short movie at the Tusayan Movie Teather (for $12) the sound was mute for a few seconds very frequently, management shoud definitely look at that.
Visiting this National Park is a wonderful, unforgettable experience, that I highly recommend, it is one of this planet wonders.

The Grand Canyon is a must see for anyone. Gorgeous views and many layers of rock that has been eroded over time leaving an array of color and beauty. Great photo opp but the photos can not compare to seeing this in person. Stay all day or stop for a few minutes at the various pullouts to take in the vast beauty and grandeur. Amazing landmark and stunning scenery. Be prepared for crowds this summer as Grand Canyon National Park celebrates 100th years.

WOW! Absolutely incredible views from the south rim. We did sunset and went back the next day for sunrise as well and both were equally as stunning. We also did a helicopter trip over the canyon - my advice would be to do one or the other. The views are stunning for both but after doing the walk first we were slightly (only slightly) disappointed with the helicopter. My only other disappointment would be the toilets. When we got there early evening they were dirty, bins were overflowing and smelt like they had not been cleaned all day. I don’t know if there is a regular check on the toilets but if there isn’t this is something that should be put into place.
