Grand Canyon really is something everyone should see. When you walk around and see it from every angle, its amazing from all of them. If i return one day i would love to try hiking down the canyon or rafting the Colorado river. It is not a place you visit once and its enough. You will want to go back !!!

Even though it was really cold weather, we were bundled up and enjoyed quite a few of the lookouts, the best and most spectacular is from the South Rim. The North Rim was closed so we couldn't do the glass skywalk. Will be back in April to do some hiking.

we did mule assisted grand canyon hike with Wildeland trekking company during Christmas. it was a great trip. we had very profession guides who knew a lot about grand canyon and they also cooked very good food.I was very worried about my daughter who is glutin sensitive but they took care of her dietary needs very well.overall very good trip.

If you only have a day to spare to visit the Grand Canyon, you don't have a car, and are not very athletic/adventurous, avoid going to the South Rim.

We traveled for 10 hours only to get an hour and a half of viewing time in the most touristy spots, which means that the view is not necessarily a good one, plus in high season it's crowded.
If you pay for the tour, your meal will be at the National Geographic Visitor Center with a choice of Chinese food, pizza or salad.

I just did the West Rim last April and the experience was way better in terms of views, food and learning about the Hualapai nation.

To enjoy visiting the South Rim you must have 1) time (plenty of it! You could even consider staying there for a couple of days in a tent or one of the lodges or small hotels) 2) a good guide (either human or paper) and 3) a good physical condition to reach the prettiest, isolated spots.
