It really is everything you think the 7th wonder of the world will be and more! We were not disappointed. Our first view from the Desert View Watchtower was breathtaking. Photos really don't do the Canyon justice. An elk welcomed us as we drove into the park! We really enjoyed hiking the Rim trails as well as the Bright Angel trail (not the whole thing, too hot!). The shuttle service is fantastic because you can tailor your hikes to what you want to specifically visit. Definitely make a visit to the Yavapai Geological Center. It really helps you understand the Canyon. A visit to the El Tovar is a must. We ate lunch there and it was delicious. It also makes for a nice midday stop. Sunsets and stargazing are perfect ways to end the day. Lots of elk around El Tovar at that time of the day as well. There is honestly nothing like a night sky at the Grand Canyon. I would also recommend hiking/visiting the western parts of the Rim trail toward Hermit's rest. You get alot more views of the river and it changes color in this part. Also, follow the suggestions in the Canyon newsletter. It was incredibly helpful!

The Grand Canyon was spectacular. We did as a day trip from Vegas which is a long day and to maximize our time at the Canyon we rented bikes and it was fantastic. We covered so much ground and we avoided the long waits of the shuttle buses. They looked crowded and inconvenient to get around. I wish we had more time to hike into the canyon but that will have to be another time. It is a must see and a must to to rent a bike.

We have visited Grand Canyon NP many times but we can't stop marveling at the beauty of this NP. You feel in awe at the beauty of this Canyon. Especially the sun sets are fantastic. We went to Mather Point, which wasn't that crowded like Sunset point. We did some smaller trails along the rim. We did not feel like doing bigger hikes with our 5 year old. If you visit this fantastic NP allow at least 3 days for you visit, it's worthwhile.

On the drive to the Grand Canyon I kept expecting the landscape to start changing to let us know we were getting closer but it didn't, I still can't believe that one minute you are just walking along and the next minute the Canyon is just there. I thought of all the people who had come this way years ago and what they must have experienced just happening upon it not knowing it was there. it made me realise how insignificant everything is just looking at this Majestic landscape that has witnessed millions of years and still stands steadfast. The set up for tourists here is excellent, numerous visitor centres, well informed rangers , excellent shuttle service and parking facilities. y kids loved the junior ranger programme

No amount of reading or looking at pictures in books or the web will ever prepare one really for the awesomeness of actually being there, soaking the grandness and the beauty of it all - the layers of landscape like some time warp trapped in itself, the colors of the canyon and the skies as the sun comes up, the foliage around, the size of it all, EVERYTHING! How to sum up my feeling - Oh my God, there really is a God who made this all, who made it soooo beautiful and who made it possible for me to experience it at least once in my lifetime. I am grateful to have seen this now after many many years of yearning as a young child! Truly a grand experience. We went in 1995
