Owner description: A park symbolizing the long-standing friendship between Glacier National Park and its neighbor, Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada.

The Canadian section of the park is notably quieter than the US portion. Saw grizzly bear, black bears and big horned sheep our first morning in the park.
Waterton Village is a pleasant little town. Short staffed after the peak tourist season, however.

The entire park is just one beautiful vista after another. Just wonderful to see so much wilderness. Wildlife is also very neat to observe.

My wife and I utilized the Red Bus tour to Prince of Wales hotel in Waterton to see experience Red Bus tour and have Hi Tea. We were met at the restaurant by young ladies in Scottish dress and escorted to our table overlooking the lake and the town of Waterton. We were made comfortable and given choices of tea to enjoy and relax with the magnificient views. Soon three trays of dainty foods and sweets were served. All were excellent and my wife was pleased with this adventure.

We visited both Waterton Lakes National Park (Alberta, Canada) and Glacier National Park (Montana, USA) this summer. Although it is possible to traverse the border by boat, we drove and were not disappointed by the diversity of natural beauty. Plan to spend time in each park to really appreciate the wildlife, lakes and mountains of this unusal shared wilderness. Be sure to check border crossing times, though, because the tiny station on Hwy 6/Hwy 17 in not open 24/7.

Eevry thing about this side of the park is worth visiting and there is anything that you might need to be had here. Absolutely unbelievable view from the Lodge that is located here and is well worth seeing. I would love to go back and stay there in the future.
