“Go on this tour! Don't give it a second thought; this is a must do experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

September 4, 2013, Glacier NP. The staff at Glacier Guides Lodges convinced us to take this tour. Even on short notice, they found room for us on one of the busses. Our guide, Karl, was terrific and made this wonderful site seeing tour come alive with many stories about the history of the park and related current events. This tour is for everyone in the family. Karl was able to entertain young and old with his ability to relate to his passengers, constant chatter and enthusiastic appreciation of the park's beauty and expansiveness. Eight hours flew by all too quickly.
There were many highlights of the trip. Logan's Pass, the Going to the Sun Road, and The Lake at Many Glacier to mention a few. We encountered mountain goats and bears on our trip.

“Great way to see the park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

We did the Crown of the Continent tour and the International Peace park tour. On both tours the guides were excellent and very informative about the history of the park and had many stories to tell. The scenery was spectacular and there were plenty of photo opportunities. We were able to enjoy the whole experience without having the stress of driving on very narrow windey roads. Good value for money

“The Best Way to See and Understand Glacier National Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

We took the tour that starts on the west side of the park, goes a few miles past Rising Sun and then returns. It took about 6-7 hours with stops for photography and lunch. Our driver Glen was fabulous. A personable fellow, he is very informed about all things Glacier including the history and geology, wildlife, waterfalls even the trees and birds. He presents the information in an easy-to-understand way that helps you better appreciate the park and its beauty. We drove the Going to the Sun road ourselves as part of our trip but we saw and understood way more because of Glen and the Red Bus tour. We did this tour as day 1 of an 8 day trip and it was the perfect introduction. HINTS: dress in layers and try to be at first pickup location. The roomiest seats are right behind the driver.

“Ride to Logan Pass”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

We had a 20 minute ride up to Logan Pass in the park. The open top allowed us to see the wonderful mountains, but it also provided a lot of breeze on a September morning. It was good seeing the first of our continental divides on this trip. I'd definitely do it again. Just dress warmly.

“Informative tour on a beautiful road....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

We took a 7 hour tour that included going over Logan's Pass on to the East entrance to Glacier Park and then the ride back. The ride on the Red Bus was interesting, if not a bit crowded as they sit 4 to a row. The way up to Logan's Pass, which I would never, ever want to drive, there are quite a few stops where you can get out and take pictures. The ride back had much fewer stops.
*
I would caution not to drink too much fluid as there are not a lot of bathrooms along the way and when you do find one...it will have a really long line.
*
Also the food at the place you have lunch is not great and on the day we were visiting there were more flies than people in the dining area. (and I'm not kidding about how many flies...swarms).
*
This experience is more enjoyable if the driver is fun and knowledgeable..ours was okay. But the other thing is that you are sharing your experience w/ strangers...and that sometimes is not so great. We had two know-it-alls on the journey who felt it was their obligation to one up the driver/guide. SIGH.
*
Lastly...there aren't actually a lot of glaciers in Glacier Park anymore. Not of any real size. If you've been up to Alaska and expect to see large glaciers in Glacier park...that's not what you will see. But if you're up for a glorious drive thru a breathtakingly beautiful area, it's well worth the time and money.
