“Very Educational”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2014 via mobile

As far as national park visitor centers go, this one is small but still interesting to visit. The movie, one of our favorite things to do at a visitor center, was interesting as well.

The high light of the visit was seeing a five foot alligator swimming in the pond behind the center.

It was a nice stop before hiking the trails at Royal Palm about 5 miles down the toad

“A must do.”

Could not have done the Everglades near as well without a stop at this visitor center. Very good information even by government standards. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

“Take time for Visitor's Center”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2014

We are always impressed with the National Parks. This Visitor's Center has a great film explaning the Everglades. It also has a number of interactive displays to help educate visitors on the entire Everglades' ecosystem. Great for all ages...we were traveling with ages from 8 to 69, and everyone learned something new. From here, we entered the park for a couple short hikes. Both the Ahinga Trail and Gumbo Limbo trails show the variety of wildlife seen in the park. Beware as you walk...we did come across a rattlesnake on the trail!

“This Visitor Center is just inside the park entrance.”

They have displays and have park maps. The rangers can recommend which areas to see based on your time allotment and what you want to see. There is a nice gift shop. restrooms are in an outer building close to the parking lot.

“informative visitor center”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

good visitor center, the small informative exhibit is good. only thing is i wanted to get some nice everglades souvenirs and they did not have a wide selection. they suggested me to go the alligator farms outside the park. i hated those alligator farms and avoid it.
