We were amazed of all the wildlife and the number of species just feets away. It was truly like being at a zoo, yet no cages. It was wildlife at it's best. The staff was friendly, the place was very clean, and lots of information.

A good overview of the wildlife to be found in the Park. Best of all was the recommendation made by the volunteer staff of the order in which to see things and the list of ranger-led programs. For example, be at Flamingo at low tide for a better chance to see the manatees. Nice gift shop. High class place.

This was a wonderful introduction to the Evergaldes National Park. Everyone should visit the Royal Pond area and do the walks as suggested by the staff

It is always a good idea to stop at the visitor center when visiting a national park or a state park. The Ernest F Coe visitor center is well staffed with ranger ready to answer all your questions about the park, where to go,how long does it take etc. They can provide you with maps to enhance your visit.
There are some nice exhibits depicting the different habitats and some of the animals you are about to see. Bathrooms and a nice gift shop are located at the site as well. The gift shops at national parks often have a good selection of books about the natural history, plants and animals to be found in the park so it is always a good idea to check their bookstore selection in case there is a nice book there that you have not seen before.
Highly recommend a stop or two at this visitor center.

Visitors center at the Homestead Entrance to Everglades National Park. Be sure to get a map, and also look for times of special tours. The rangers were very helpful with answering questions and making recommendations.
