We came in by train and transferred to a bus to the hotel no time to visit. We left by train but took the free bus from the hotel two hours before the train arrived. The Visitor Center is a short walk from the train station. Typical of the Park service the center is informative and visually attractive. Rangers are helpful as usual and there are trails of varying lengths to help you wile away the time. There is also a well stocked gift/book store and a restaurant located there and as others have mentioned restrooms. Make this place an early stop on your visit to Denali free busses run frequently to/from the hotels.

We would recommend stopping at the Denali Visitor Center to learn all about the park before taking a bus tour, etc. The dioramas are wonderful, and the movie was great. The rangers are present to answer any questions to enhance your visit.

A stop made on the tour bus..The Ranger station held a lot of information on wildlife .We looked at skins and antlers it was interesting...they had souvenirs, snacks, books etc to purchase..the scenery was beautiful with a river nearby. The most important reason for the stop was all the restrooms ...

Great place to go, the day after you do the Park Road. Beautiful Visitors Center surrounded by Morino Grill and a Park Museum with two story glass windows facing Riley Creek. The Rangers are awesome. They know the park and can help you find the right activities or hikes for you. Usually they run 2 guided hikes day at 10am & 1pm(easy two hrs). All boreal forest around you.
In decent health? I recommend the Taiga to Rock Creek to Roadside trails. RT- two to three hrs. with some incline. Knock you socks off. Triple Lakes is nice and easy, but one way only and didn't have time for all of it. Mt Healy Overlook is somewhat steep. I'll try the rest on my next trip to Ak.

Great place to see what you can expect to see in the Denali park. Park rangers do an excellent job. They show a super film that depicts the beauty of the park.
