Cannot really remember what we ate, but it was good and service as good. Old building, looks like it is falling down from the outside

“Pricey, but Delicious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2014

Alaska's restaurants are expensive compared to the lower 48 so it's all relative. Obviously, getting food to the area is a logistic challenge and costs more. Having said that, expect to pay about $15-24 for an entrée here and elsewhere. Alcohol seems comparable with the lower 48. The Salmon Bake has a lively atmosphere and a good menu. I had the buffalo chili and found it delicious. We had fun here...didn't feel rushed by our servers and enjoyed ourselves. I have to admit that Nenana Grill has better food, but if you want to relax and let loose a little, you can't do that at the Nenana...you should go here, especially after a long hike in Denali.

“Alaskan Chic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2014

We've been to Denali 3 times, and have dined at this classic Alaskan eatery (at least once)every time. People say it looks like a shack that has been added onto several times, and they're right! The slanted floor inside only adds to this feeling, and the young, hip waitstaff seem to be an extension of their surroundings. It's all very laid-back and chill - if you come in in a bad mood, you will leave in a good mood.

Food is great, and they have a fine selection of local brews, including 49th State Brewing, which appears to be their sister brewpub a few miles north of town in Healy (also an awesome place!). If this is your first time in Alaska, the look of the Salmon Bake may scare you off, but resist that urge. Take a chance, and go inside. You'll come out happier!

“Good times.”

I went there and Derrick was our shuttle driver. He was amazing and courteous and made sure we got to where we needed to go. Brianna was our server and she made sure we had everything we needed. We decided to stick around and have drinks at the bar. Jeff and Osting was our bartender and they can mix a drink like nobody's business.

“Must stop here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2014 via mobile

I thought this was going to be a touristy eatery at first, but once i walked into the rickety, old, very cool Alaskan decorated restaraunt I changed my mind..... I was socio glad we stopped!!!! We got 1 lb of Alaskan crab legs that was the best crab I have ever had.... Well worth the $$ then the blue margarita topped it off YUM!!!! I would definitely recommend stopping and eating here .... A great Alaskan experience
