The entertainment was cute. The dinner was okay. The seating arrangements are somewhat uncomfortable for a long period of time (benches with no back support at picnic tables). The service and the staff were exceptional. They weren’t just friendly, they went out of their way to make the evening a fun experience. Audience participation was encouraged.

It was a nice way to spend an evening when we didn’t have other plans.

What more needs to be said. These are extremely talented artist. You may even hear a little bit of poetry that will help you understand life in Alaska. The food is great and you will have a ball interacting with your server. You will love it and it is kid friendly.

We were very disappointed with the Cabin Night Dinner Theater at Mt. McKinley Chalet in Denali
12 people are required to sit around a picnic table made for 6 with bench seats. No back support. One persons sat at each end. You feel very crowded. There are 2 slop buckets on the table sitting beside the serving dishes. The food is served on hot platters & hot bowls. You can't pass the food, you have to pass your plate where 12 pairs of hands touch your plate while the closest person to the serving dish fills each plate! Everyone scrapes the uneaten food from their plate into the slope buckets. DISGUSTING! You use the same plate throughout the dinner. If you have salad dressing on your plate, too bad, you do not get a clean plate. The food was So So. The entertainment was meant to be amusing, but without talent. If the seating arrangement, serving, and clean up were more comfortable and sanitary it would certainly increase the pleasure of the experience. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Cabin nite is held on the McKinley Chalet Resort property, which is convenient if you are staying there. The entertainment is very good with plenty of audience participation and good music sung by excellent entertainers. The food is served family style at long tables where everyone gets in the act of serving and being served. The ribs and salmon were very good and it was definitely a "down home" meal, including all the trimmings and dessert. Just plain fun with good family entertainment.

I had low expectations of mediocre food and corny entertainment. Yes it was corny, but we loved it. And the food was delicious – one of our favorite meals in Alaska. It’s served family style, so you get to know your table mates. I think ours ranged in age from 8 to 80, and everyone had a good time. This may be the hardest-working, friendliest staff in Alaska. The attentive servers are also the talented performers. With two shows a night, I’m amazed they can maintain such high energy and positive attitudes. The sweet bartender, “Kitty,” is the only cocktail waitress for the whole room, but she never stopped smiling. The show gave an entertaining glimpse of Alaska gold rush history. It’s mostly comedy, but there were some sentimental moments too. They sang a poem by Yukon poet Robert Service, which made such an impression on my 12-yr-old that he looked for his poems in a bookstore days later. When asked about Alaska, my boys still jokingly sing out, “Alaska’s bigger than Texas!” from the show.

Thankfully, I had a 2-for-1 coupon from the Northern Lights book, so I can’t complain about the price.
