“Good Choice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

Our budget only allowed for this lower-priced green bus, and availability required that we take the 6-hour Toklat tour. The 8-hour tour was booked and the longer tours didn't interest us, as we drove to Alaska from New York, so more time on a bus wasn't desirable. The only misgivings I had were that I heard some drivers on this tour are great and some don't speak. We needn't have worried. Our driver, Robert Crowell, was fantastic! He was a wealth of information about the park, the flora and the fauna. He was on the lookout for critters (as he called them, as do I) and for sightings of Denali. He did not talk non-stop, but just enough, and he had a great sense of humor. We saw caribou, bull and cow moose, a mama grizzly with 2 cubs, ptarmigans, a single grizzly and several instances of Dall sheep. Never saw Denali, but we were not disappointed!

“Everything the "Private" Tours Give You at a Fraction of the Price!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

Except for the stale boxed lunches and maybe a little more plush on the seats, that is....

We took the 12 hour bus to Katanisha (ie. as far as you can go), and were so happy to have selected this option over the way-higher priced tour options available. The end portion from Wonder Lake to Katanisha may shave an hour or two off the trip without missing the most spectacular scenery, so you may want to choose the "Wonder Lake" destination over "Katanisha," if the length is an issue for you, but we wanted to see the whole thing.

Try to get "Wendy" as your driver if you can. Outstanding commentary, with an obvious love for and knowledge about the park, plus a no-nonsense, can-do Alaskan spirit. So we lucked out there, as we did with the spectacular weather we had: Denali clearly visible for most of the day!

You can't say you've seen Denali without taking one of these bus trips, and the scenery after the visitor center shouldn't be missed. So yes, it's a long day, but comfortable enough and pleasant, and it goes more quickly than we would have thought.

“Must Do”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

Great driver. We went to Eilson with our group of 20+ filling a good part of the green bus. Wildlife we saw - Lots of caribou, a fox hunting on the road very close, lots of sheep far away, two bears on a 'kill site' far away, another grizzly walking the side of a hill (my only complaint is that the driver had to make a deadline so we couldn't stay to watch this bear longer). We all loved it. It is a long ride but the only way to really get into the park without hiking. The mountain was cloud covered but it appeared the next day! Be sure to bring snacks and drinks.

“Outstanding Experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

Denali National Park Tours were outstanding. We were told ahead of time online exactly what we needed for the 8 hour bus tour. There were many tours to choose from and everything was online, so you were prepared. The bus driver was very informative and no question was left unanswered. The driver was also a very careful driver, which we appreciated because of the tight mountain turns. There were Park Rangers at every rest stop to tell people even more information. We saw a lot of wildlife, including 4 grizzly bears, caribou, moose, and eagles. Denali National Park is just awesome. The beauty is unbelievable. Since the public road stops 13 miles into the park, everyone who is not backpacking needs to choose at least one of these tours. It would be impossible to see all we saw in a week at the park, unless you chose a tour.

“Can't say enough. A MUST”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

These drivers love the park and it shows! We did the 8 hour Tundra Wilderness Tour to mile 62 marker (advertised to mile 53) and the 12 hour Kantishna Experience to the end at 92.3. Both Rebecca and Don have been returning for years to drive and share the beauty of Denali. They make learning fun! Having 40 sets of eyes really helps spot the animals. We saw moose, bears, foxes, caribou, sheep, artic ground squirrels and a wolf. Lunches/snacks were fine but chilled drinks would have been nice as it was unseasonably hot. If you're going to Denali make sure you do at least one narrated tour.
