“Glad we Stayed Here”

We picked this place based on the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. The cabins lived up to the promise. We stayed in cabin #5. It was rustic, but very clean. The room had a microwave and a coffeemaker. There is a creek behind the cabin and you can hear the water rushing by.... great for sleeping. Carlo Creek is about 15 miles away from Denali NP entrance whereas the "Glitter Gultch" hotels are about 3 miles away.

We stayed at Carlos Cabins for two wonderful nights while exploring Denali Park area. Cabin #5 is surrounded by trees and has a clear water creek running right behind it. The sound of the water with the window open was wonderful. This rustic cabin is a nice size and was very comfortable for two people. It also included a table with four chairs. The room was clean and well kept. We found the accomodations rustic, including the dust, LOVED IT ALL but found the shower a bit small for Two.
During your stay you gotta check out the MOOSE at the beaver pond. It's about a 1/2 mile walk through a brushy trail but worth the effort. Be careful you are in the WILD.
The mountain views around the cabins are amazing. The cabins are right down the road (within walking distance) of several good restaurants with great views of their own.

We stayed here just for a night and quite pleased with this place. We booked Cabin A without bathroom, but that doesnt complicate our life much. Ofcourse, the bathrooms were crowded a bit in the morning, but we decided to get ready bit later after 8 - and by that time everyone left the place & we had free bathrooms :-) The room was cozy & the bed was AWESOME - so soft & firm - very comfortable. The cabin is so cute with moose horn instead of door handles and loved all the cute things - even the keychain is a moose horn ! :-)
This is the CHEAPEST stay for us in Alalska - paid 87$ after 5% offer online booking. Bathrooms were soo clean and nicely maintained. Room had microwave, fridge, heater - everything is very good with this place. Highly recomment to anyone who is looking for cheaper, but cute & clean place to stay :-)

We stayed in Carlo Creek Lodge (Cabin 2) for two nights. The cabin is not really big but it is clean and you can get free wifi in your cabin.
You have some restaurants just across the street, we went to McKinley Creekside Café, is a little bit pricey but service and food are really good.
I would recommend it.

Pros: staying in a real log cabin on a creek (so nice to fall asleep to the rushing water sounds in Cabin 4!); clean; safe; laundry; extra clean showers with soap (all the B&B's we stayed in had bottles of liquid soap for showers); fridge & microwave; unbelievable wifi - no phone service at times, but we could email photos!; friendly staff with main building staffed until 10 PM; beautiful views of the fog over the creek and the hills beyond. . . Oh- and compared to anything in town, really inexpensive!
Cons: kinda dark inside the cabin, even with the 3 lights; the inside cabin bathroom door was a little funky (we imagine with kids, your son WILL lock your daughter inside at every opportunity!) and it took a couple of minutes to adjust the shower settings correctly.
Pros definitely won out; this was a great, fun place :)
