“A Little More Rustic Than I Like”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2012

As my husband said, "It's okay to be rustic on the outside but not the inside." This place is very like what you would have stayed in for summer camp. I loved the actual little cabins, but the beds were pretty uncomfortable and the open ceiling between the bathroom and sleeping area meant no real privacy. The showers are in the room, but very small and there's not any place to sit anything in them. Also, a couple of basic hooks on the wall beside the sink area would be a huge help for hanging towels and toiletry bags. No hairdryer in the room, but I was able to get one in the cabin office. Obviously, very few TV options as far as channels go. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal but we were there during the Olympics and I really wanted to catch up on them at night. We were able to watch some of them in the bar in the restaurant. The restaurant was nice and we both enjoyed a dinner there. I would say, go prepared to be slightly above a national park shelter and you'll be fine. The guy that worked in the cabin office was very nice and helpful in everything I asked.

We stayed 3 nights at the Denali Cabins and took their tour to the end of the road. We had a wonderful time. Staff was excellent. Mark their schuttle driver was always on time and willing to provide valuable information about every establishment in the "gulch" (town)as well as the Denali Park itself. Barry our "end of the road" tour guide was outstanding as he patiently stopped to allow us to view the wildlife and take pictures of the beauty of the park. His naration of the history of the Mt. Mckinley and the Park was wonderful. These two staff members made this one of the best vacations we have ever had. The cabins were very clean, quiet and front desk staff eager to asist in booking all events in the area. We will definitly stay there again when we return in the near future with our grandkids. More relaxing than the big hotels in town.

Room Tip: All cabins appear about the same. The slight noise on the wooden boardwalks between cabins is barely...

I stayed two nights at the cabins and had a very nice experience. Friendly welcome and support. Healthy breakfast. Cabin with the amenities needed, at the same time creating the atmosphere of the wilderness. I took the Denali Backcountry Adventure bus to the Denali Park which was a wonderful experience. A lot of wildlife, an amazing tour guide/bus driver as well as good food.

Room Tip: Cabins have different sort of beds depending on the number in party.

The Denali Cabins were perfect for the two days we were in Denali. Simple, clean, and charming, we loved the layout of the place. Our log cabins were absolutely wonderful - warm and cozy, with more than adequate space for us. The one suggestion we shared was a little more ventilation for the indoor restroom. The staff went out of their way to be courteous and helpful, the hot tub was awesome, and the food was very enjoyable. Overall, a great stay!

Room Tip: Avoid taking rooms facing the hot tub, if you want peace and quiet!

We went to the Back Country with Barry as our bus driver and tour guide. Had a wonderful time, the staff and accommodations were great. Stayed in different rooms due to our travel schedule and all were clean. Britta and her staff were great.

The cabins were decent and comfortable and clean.I don't go on vacation to stay in the room anyway. The deck outside the room was a bit noisy when luggage pulled on it.What bothered me most was the people parties in the hot tub outside our room,Generally when in our room ,its late and we want sleep so to be active next day.Had to have window closed due to noise, thus no fresh air.I would still recomend as it was a nice place to stay.

Small cabin, smaller bathrooms. Beds were comfortable. Cold breakfast was included, (cereal and toast, etc). It was just ok, kind of far out of the town about a 15 minutes drive to the main restaurants. Room smelled strange but had a ceiling fan and we opened the windows to air out. Front desk were friendly.

Room Tip: You won't spend much time in your room in Denali.
