“Fascinating”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

You can hike for quite a distance into Mosaic Canyon. We spent over an hour and there was plenty more. We found that the beginning of the canyon was the best/most fascinating part, so even if you just spend half an hour you'll see the best part. Floods have washed through the canyon and caused what looks like mosaics, smoothing and polishing the multi-colored rocks. We loved it.

“Incredible hike!”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

Incredible place to hike. The narrow and polished canyon rocks are marvelous and it boggled my mind how incredibly smooth the rocks were. There were not a lot of people and when we reached out into the more open area we stopped for a bit and stayed completely silent for a couple minutes. The silence was staggering and felt otherworldly. Bring lots of water (and snacks) if you plan to hike to the top. Highly recommended hike!

“Amazing Canyon”
Reviewed May 24, 2014

Mosaic Canyon is near Stovepipe Wells. On the first part of the hike the canyon walls are fabulous polished "marble" and quite narrow in places, absolutely fantastic. Most visitors only hike the first mile or so but we went right to the top of the canyon and were pretty much to ourselves...it's an incredible hike....as always make sure you take plenty of water....

“An amazing place!”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

Mosaic Canyon was one of my favorite hikes in Death Valley. I arrived early in the morning and was able to have the canyon pretty much to myself. The hike up the canyon was very beautiful. The walls of the canyon were like a mosaic or breccia of smooth polished rocks which resembled marble. There were a couple of tricky dryfalls but if you take your time, that are manageable. At about 1.6 miles up the canyon, there is a dryfall which for most people is unmanageable. My roundtrip hike measure about 3.03 miles. The hike is easy to moderate and is well worth your effort.

“Dolomite!”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

This hike has the most beautiful dolomite stretches. The stone is so beautiful. It was easy for a four year old and a 70 year old.
