The Furnace Creek Inn is a quaint (i.e. charming, outwardly attractive, but lacking somewhat in creature comforts) resort in a fabulous location in Death Valley. Service is very good - but it comes at a price, partly driven by it's local monopoly and partly by the cost of supplying such a remote location. Food is particularly expensive, although there are alternatives at the "Ranch" 1-mile up the road (still expensive).

Location is fantastic for Death Valley sights, which are definitely worth the trip. And a spectacular run (although it's there and back) down the Badwater road, which has little traffic (especially early in the morning when it's cool).

We stayed at the wrench for 2 nights. Room was small but clean enough. Bed was comfortable. Temperature was easily controlled with heater/cooler. Coffee pot and refrigerator worked well. The bathroom was very small. Outside front porch (shared with attached room) with 2 rocking chairs was a nice place to sit with a drink in the late afternoon. We brought food so can't review the restaurants. A convenient and serviceable place to stay to see the beauty of Death Valley!

I stayed here with my family just for a day. This is an immaculately maintained property even when they do not have any competition. Very friendly staff, nice swimming pool and the gym. Parking space could be a little larger. The rooms are on the small side but everything is provided. The air-coditioning worked well. They have a restaurant and a bar but requires reservation and formal dress so we decided to eat at the Furnace creek Ranch which was very nice. It was a bit expensive room for a national park.
The death Valley is very different national park and has spectacular landscape. We visited on our way to Yosemite from Grand Canyon. The drive from the death valley to yosemite was also spectacular! I feel that we should have stayed for one more day to enjoy the resort which was very nice.

Room Tip: If you have any knee problem then mention it while booking since there are some staircases to go up...

Death valley national park is incredible, the ranch needs to improve, seems a little outdated. Restaurants are ok but also need more options in menu. Well what can you expect in the if middle of nowhere. Amazing sunsets and sunrise. If you cycle youre in one of the best places on earth to do it.

Nice older place with interesting history. Smallish rooms with great views and small baths. The laws of supply and demand are clearly at play: you pay through the nose. Be forewarned of the restaurant at the inn - it tries hard to be high class (and the prices certainly are!) but the food simply doesn't live up to its billing and the service is just OK. Go eat down in the village instead. Run by the same company but the food, although also far from cheap, is just as good or better and the salad bar at the Wrangler is nice to have. Hint: fill up the gas tank before you are in the park - gas is just about double in the park!

Spent 4 days cycling and hiking in Death Valley National Park and stayed at the Inn all 3 nights. Beautiful oasis-like property with a refreshing pool and gorgeous views. Since we were working so hard all day, I really appreciated the phenomenally strong shower. Amazing water pressure. The manager, Alex, gave us an amusing tour of the hotel, including many humorous anecdotes.

The one negative point: really poor restaurant. I understand that this is one of only 2 or 3 places to eat in the park, but they seemed overwhelmed at breakfast every morning. Is it so difficult to plan for a daily breakfast onslaught and make sure there is enough staff and food?? The service at dinner was much better, but the food was bad. Steak was ordered Medium on two nights, and it came out completely overcooked and dry both times. I advise going to the restaurant down the hill in the Furnace Creek Ranch.. I think it's called the Wrangler -- much better steaks!

From the moment we checked in to the time we left, our stay at the Furnace Creek inn was outstanding. The views from our room #107 were breathtaking, sunrise and sunset especially. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer. We look forward to staying here again someday.

Room Tip: room #107 has the best views of Death Valley.
