This was are second stay at Furnace Creek Ranch within the year. Death Valley is an amazing location and we wanted to see abit more of it. The Ranch offered a lovely cabin which was cool (considering the extreme heat of the day) and the staff for the Ranch were very good. We had very minor ailments - ie no table outside our cabin which - when reported - was corrected before we got back to the cabin!. All facilities were very good despite being in the middle of a desert at (nearly) the height of summer. There was a lovely swimming pool facility which we made no use of as we were too interested in seeing the sights during our short stay.
We did notice that there was a huge amount of German visitors (and to a lesser extent French and Japenese - very few Brits - probably a good thing). More Germans than we met when holidaying in fabulous Berlin (wonderful city and people). Just interested in why they travel to Death Valley at this time of year (September). Not able to visit again for a while (what with recession and huge increase in price of airfare to US) but will be back to Furnace Creek Ranch as soon as poss!More
