The 1 mile trail to Hickman bridge begins in a beautiful spot by the river on Highway 24, just east of the petroglyphs turn-off, and climbs steeply through several switchbacks up the east side of the mountain, where it continues west and then forks. Stay to the left, since the north fork leads to the Rim Overlook and Navajo Knobs. It's a beautiful hike ending under the Hickman Bridge natural arch (which can be seen from above if you go back and hike a short way along the Rim Overlook trail). The best time to hike it is in the afternoon, when the strenuous part of the trail is in shadow.
