“Absolutely Worth It”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

$60 for a three hour horseback ride down the most beautiful canyon....well worth it. Our guide Stetson and his knowledge of the canyon as well as his humor added favorably to the experience. This was probably the highlight of our vacation and we have a ton of pictures to prove it. Shoutout to Tony (my mule).

“Great Way to See Bryce Canyon”
Reviewed October 23, 2012 via mobile

We did the half day ride and it was a great way to see a lot of the canyon in a relatively short space of time. There were only six riders in our group with a cowboy, other groups followed along behind which meant you felt like you got much more care and attention. As relatively novice riders we were a little apprehensive but were well looked after - although I never did quite relax each time the horses and mules had a little 'run' to catch up :) All part of the experience. The horses and mules were all very responsive. Be aware if you haven't ridden much that you are likely to get sore knees while riding for this length of time - more so than a sore butt for our group. It was really funny when we got off half way for a drink and toilet stop, we all took a while to straighten up and walk properly, and then again the same at the end. A hot spa that night was very welcome and I was surprised the next day to not be too sore.

It did seem the best thing was to do some walking after the ride to get our legs working again. We did the Navajo loop after the ride and were fine.

It was great to get down amongst the hoodoos in the canyon and although the temperature was pleasant in the shade it was very hot still in the sun. The walkers we encountered along the way looked very hot and tired and several commented they wished they were on a horse with us. It was a long way back up to the rim from the bottom of the canyon.

Our cowboy stopped regularly for photo taking and pointed out features along the way. At every stop he checked everyone was still ok. He was happy to stop for extra photos if asked but for us the ride enjoying the scenery was just as important as taking photos so we just went with the flow.

“Ask for Stetson!”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

We had muled down to the bottom of the grand canyon and back a few days earlier and thought nothing could compare with that adventure. We went on the half day horse trip which takes the Peek a Boo trail to the bottom of beautiful Bryce. You have to see Bryce to believe the beauty and the formations. You really cannot describe it. What made the day all the more fun was our guide Stetson. He was totally entertaining with stories and even surf riding on his saddle and making the whole trip more than we had ever bargained for. Ask for Stetson, you will not be sorry and take the ride--it is a much better way to see the canyon than hiking it as you are at 10,000 elevation and the hikes are extremely strenuous if you are not used to it.

“Best Horse Riding organization in Bryce Canyon”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

My girlfriend and I booked the 1/2 day Peek-A-Boo Tour. Wow, this is the best way to experience Bryce Canyon, and get down and up the rim.

We were both assigned a horse, although they also have mules, but these are similar size. So no worries. The horses and mules looked good and healthy, and were well taking care of. They got water during the break.

Our guide "Gary" explained a lot about the canyon, and combined with lot's humor, which makes it an even better experience.

They can be found inside the park in the lobby of the Bryce Canyon Lodge. This organisation seem to be less commercially oriented than the other big operator just outside of the park.

We can really recommend this organization to anybody.

My husband and I did the mule trip throught the canyon. The guides were great, the mules cooperative and the scenery unbelievable!! Until you see the sheer beauty and vastness there for yourself, you can't even imagine it!! We took the three hour ride and tho a little saddle sore at the end, was well worth it!!
