This is a quiet area of Bryce away from the main canyon area and just off Highway 12 to the east of the park. The walk is wonderful as you make your way alongside a stream bed and over a bridge with the big red rock spires looking down on you, but the cave, which is not accessable, is dissapointing. Instead of taking the Trail to the Cave [I'm not even sure it is a cave in the true sense] continue to the little waterfall to the right where you can continue up hill to the rocks if you want to. All in all it was a pleasant and quiet walk in an area that is surrounded by natural beauty, but do it for the walk and views and not the actual cave, which on it's own would only get 1 or 2 star rating from me.

We hiked the trail in the late afternoon and found it to be quite enjoyable along a pretty little stream with the most amazing pink rocks in and along the stream. At the end of the trail the left fork leads to Mossy Cave which was very disappointing; just a cave with moss. The right fork is where the views are: a waterfall, some hoodoos in various stages of formation and a few windows. There is actually a trail across the top of the waterfall and up the side of the mountain that gives great views. Highly recommend this short hike.

Unfortunately, the trail right up to the waterfall was closed, hence only three stars from me! The mossy cave itself was terribly disappointing; there' s nothing to see!! Nevertheless, the stroll over the bridge and through the valley offered fantastic views, so it was a worthwhile short hike.

This is an easy hike along a stream (although the stream was basically dry when we were there) that takes you past a small waterfall and up to a cave with, what else: moss growing in it. It took us about 45 minutes to complete the round trip; and we took time to enjoy the sights along the way. We hiked it after a morning driving from St. George, so it was a good way to stretch our legs. It’s also a great way to walk among the base of some of the hoodoos without having to do the elevation changes of the more difficult hikes in the park. The trailhead is located on Rt. 12; you have to leave the park, go east on Rt. 12 and it’s not too far down the road on the right. (It’s marked; there’s also a bathroom house by the road). A good introduction to hiking Bryce!

This trail is really worth it! The trail is called mossy cave trail, however the cave itself is not really that impressive.. however, the waterfall it leads to is totally worth it! it is a short hike along the river and finally leads to either the cave, or water fall. definitely recommend everyone to go there!
