I was pleasantly surprised when we stumbled in to Bryce Canyon Lodge-. The menu was interesting, and varied with local and regional dishes being offered. I ordered one of the specials of the day which happened to be a walleye fish lightly encrusted in panko served on top of bacon and onion risotto in a bed of sauteed spinach with a lobster bisque sauce served with baby scallops. This dish was fantastic and exceeded my expectations. The meal was served with a delicious warm crusty sour dough bread. For dessert I tried another special a slice of pumpkin cheese cake served over chocolate sauce with cranberries. This too was delicious. Reservations are not taken but we lucked out by arriving at 5:45 and had no wait. Our waitress was excellent but kudos go out to the to the chef !!!

There aren't too many places to eat in the park and some aren't open till later in the day so we ate here. The wait staff was very good no complaints at all they were very friendly to our children and we enjoyed our meals salad bar was very good and well stocked the rolls were very yummy! They changed some items to accommodate our little ones tastes and even when we had a spill they were great. Good place to eat and not super over priced for a restaurant in a national park.

Staying in the historic lodge was a disappointment. The room was like a low cost hotel, dated and ugly.
I would have liked to have seen what the other rooms looked like.
Thank goodness the Canyon hiking exhausted us!

Reservations are not taken here so you have to take your chances for a seat with the other tourists and all the tours coming through. We had to wait an hour for a table and we arrived at 6:00. Once seated our waitress was attentive and knowwledgeable. The menu offers a nice variety and many of the dishes can be ordered in half portions which is nice. I had the short ribs and they were delicious and my dining companion had the crab cake which she said was also wonderful. The vegetables that came as sides were cold. My companion said the brownie sundae was the best she has ever had anywhere ever. I cannot say the same about the carrot cake. It is worth the visit for the atmosphere and the experience. Plus with so few choices in the area, this restaurantis one of the better ones.

We ate here for dinner our last night in bryce and enjoyed our meal immensely. The wait staff was very attentive and the m enu was huge. Lots of items to choose from. We both ordered salads with chicken and the portions were huge. Our salads came with home made warm bread that we dipped in a olive oil mixture on the table. Overall this was one of the best restaurants.in the park.
