Went in late March - no crowds and the temps were in the 50s and 60s which was great for hiking and there was still a little snow on the rock formations that added to the beauty. Make the effort and get to a viewpoint for sunrise - very beautiful. Have also visited in the summer and it is great then too as the higher elevation moderates the temps somewhat but it is crowded at that time.
