There is a parking lot level view point but the better views are had from the strenuous climb up to the actual point and even up farther to Upper Inspiration Point. This latter point's trail is soft gravel and sand so hiking shoes are recommended and there are no railings on the cliff edges. I would rate it 2nd best stop on the Red Loop with Sunset coming first and Bryce third.

.. to see the temples and cathedral structures created by nature. Make sure that there is a lot of space left in your camera.

It has three levels, so take your time walking up. Walk out the short trail on the top one for something different.

Inspiration Point has some of the most incredible views you will see anywhere, also we were there when there were winds gusting up to 50 mph, so that made walking very interesting! A MUST if visiting Bryce Canyon!

We were there in late June, one of like 15 other scenic points but the highest up with the most expansive views. It's a climb to the upper view area, but worth it. Then go past the viewpoint on the rim trail and get away from everyone and peek over the ledges. That's the way to avoid the crowds. Expect breezy conditions, check the weather forecast as when we were there it was 25-35 mph gusts... Cold at sunset.

Parking fills up but we always found a spot.
