The Bryce Canyon Lodge has 3 different building types: the main lodge, the Sunset and Sunrise Lodge and the Cabins. The Sunset Lodge is a 3 minute walk from the Sunset viewpoint. The other buildings are around the same distance from the rim trail...so all of them have an excellent location. The interior design of the bedroom is nice and rustic. The condition is somewhat worn and the rooms and buildings are outdated and need an update. They are historical buildings, however. That fact is, however, nno excuse for outdated bathrooms and worn carpets etc..

Even with the poor condition of the hotel....this has to be the best way to visit the Canyon. You can start the hikes into the Canyon from the hotel room and walk frequently to the rim trail during the day with changing light conditions to enjoy the view. You can also beat the crowd in the late evening or early morning without getting in your car..

This lodge is the only hotel in the park and so it expensive. The accommodations are rustic, with no TV or wifi (or cell phone service for most people) in the rooms. There's wifi in the main lobby but it's really slow and being that it's the only wifi around it has to be fixed. The rooms have no AC but that wasn't an issue even in June as nights get real cold (they do have heat).

The National Park Service leases out its properties to the lowest bidders, it seems. If you are lucky, the park lodge will be a Xanterra property; if you are unlucky, it will be run by a South African outfit called forever resorts. Maybe they are good in the RSA, but any Marriott property is run better in this country. We had a "suite" in the main lodge building, and there are only three, so you'd think housekeeping could handle the job better. The furniture was uncomfortable, and the amenities were non-existent. The front desk clerks handling check-in were clueless, but we were lucky that our room was ready. There was a computer problem while we were there which affected other people's check-in and checkout.

This lodge is literally steps away from the spectacular Bryce Canyon. We were a group with 8 rooms. Most were in one of the main buildings abut a few of us were lucky enough to be in one of the cabins. The cabins were smaller than the regular rooms and housekeeping was non-existent for all three nights but once we walked less than a minute to the canyon edge, all was forgotten. The check in was horrible and Bryce really needs to work on this. Second trip for most of us, and had the SAME problems as last trip. We booked a year in advance, specific rooms, all together by calling foreverresort. I called a month in advance to double check everything and then once the day before. All seemed to be well. We arrived on the same day Tauck had a bus tour coming through and we were put in all the leftover rooms. The ADA rooms we had requested disappeared and the rest of the rooms were all over the place, not together as we had requested. The manager came out from the back room to help sort this all out and was defensive and rude. He claimed that it was our fault for booking through foreverresort and that we shouldn't have done it online. I showed him the paperwork that it wasn't done online and he still dug his foot in and was quite difficult to work with. Last trip they had managed to cancel half the rooms which left people scrambling to try and find rooms at Rubys Inn. The reservation and check in system needs to be overhauled. Food at the lodge was better than we thought but we had 1hr 45min wait for our food both nights Tauck was there. Bryce is lovely but I'm not sure we'll be returning to the lodge.

Room Tip: Cabins are lovely but walls are quite thin.

We stayed at the Bryce Canyon Lodge for 3 nights. We were in the Sunrise unit. Everything about our stay was perfect. The rooms are decorated in a rustic Southwest theme, and are immaculate. We had a private balcony from which we could see mule deer grazing. It was a short walk to the main lodge building and its wonderful restaurant. To a person, the staff was friendly and enthusiastic. We highly recommend staying inside Bryce Canyon National Park, and the Lodge is a perfect choice.

My husband and I stayed one night at the lodge in a regular room. It was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. We were only here for one night and the following morning, so staying in the park was our best decision. We only wish there had been more choice of somewhere to eat.

We couldn't get a room here, but had dinner. The service and the food were 5 star. Everything was fresh and delicious, the service was excellent. They do not take reservations for dinner.
Forever Resorts, who own this property, should send the chef over to their property on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to teach the North Rim chef how to cook.
