This is not as impressive as many National Park visitor centers, but the staff is helpful and the relatively smallish selection of literature on the park and its surroundings is adequate to satisfy the interested visitor. (I bought two books, and enjoyed them.) It is worth a stop to check with the rangers about what there is to see along the South Rim Road, and the views from the building itself and the short trails to nearby overlooks are a great start for a great day.
