We stayed in the new cabin section of the lodge (make sure you book a new cabin!)
Not sure what I expected. The cabins are clean and new, with nice beds an linens. Try to arrive during the day - we arrived at night during a thunder and lightening storm and the drive into the park was a little scary because it's not lit at all and a very curvy, winding road.
There are few amenities (and they promise none). It's NOT a hotel, so don't expect anything more than a room. The bathrooms, while also new, are cabin-like in that it's a septic tank toilet, low-end shower, etc.
There are also flies everywhere and if that bugs you, you will get no sleep. The gift store in the park is nice though.
I'm not a cabin person though; if you are you will probably like this.More
