We go to the park and always drive the whole loop road. Never get tired.

Visiting Acadia, the loop park road is a must. You see so much including
wonderful views of Eagle lake, Jordon's pond, and Sand beach just to name
a few. Eat at Jordon's pond outside overlooking the water. If you can bike or
hike the carriage roads. I will say not for everyone, quite the work-out! You
will definitely want to head up Cadillac mountain! Unbelievable views!!

Purchase the Acadia National Park Audio Tour disc at the visitors center. We took this audio tour around Acadia National Park and it was fabulous. It is a guided tour disc that you follow as you visit all the great spots on the 56 mile tour. The disc cost about $15.00 and was well worth it as you have souvenir images of Acadia upon your return home.

We visited Acadia National Park at the end of August 2009 and caught the end of hurricane Jenny. Whist it was windy and wet we took the Loop Road bus and got the bearing on key points of the park. Over the next few days we visited individual sites, including the famous Thunder Hole. The hiking up to various peaks the next day was exillierating experience. What wonderful views from the top. The biking around the carrage road was tiring but exiting - the waterfalls and the lakes on the ways made up for it. The four nights we stayed in Bar Harbor were not enough. There was good choice of restaurants in Bar Harbor - please to note ample choice for vegetarians in our party.
