“Stunning view”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

The views at the top of Cadillac mountain are absolutely stunning. Either hike the mountain or drive to the top, it's a worthwhile trip for everyone! Make sure you leave enough time at the top to take pictures, explore and visit the summit gift shop. We hiked from Blackwoods Campground along the south ridge trail. If you do decide to hike, make sure you do pack water and a snack, it is a moderate hike. The effort is well worth the reward. It took us close to four hours return to our campsite. We were there in September and there were certainly large crowds at the top.

“Slice of Heaven”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

Let's assume that there are plenty of people in heaven, in which case the top of Cadillac Mountain is heaven on earth! On a beautiful day you can see forever, and the view out to the islands along the coast of Maine is spectacular. Despite the crowds you can usually find your own space to sit and admire the panoramic view. Whether you drive up or hike, it's always so beautiful and interesting... the colors, the geography, the boats moving from island to island. Pack breakfast or lunch and plan to spend a few hours here exploring and being mesmerized.

“Gorgeous spot to view the sunrise”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

Absolutely amazing sunrise views from here, but that's not exactly a secret. Expect large crowds at the summit pretty much any time you go. It's one of those "must-see" things when you're in Acadia. The road up is windy, but not especially steep.

“Best place I'd ever been.”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

Although it was not the best time when we visited the area since it was still at the end of winter, but I was stunned by its beauty. Cadillac mountain that time was closed for vehicles because it was off season, but we hiked to the top and the experience was so amazing. We went through trails during our ascend with ice on our path. Probably it took us 30 minutes to reach the top. Not sure though about the time as my mobile phone went dead during the walk. As we reached the top, you could just stay there for awhile and and witness its beauty. We could have lasted until sunset but since we do not have our vehicles and we don't have the gears to stay long, we went down after few minutes of enjoying the view. For those who wanted to visit Bar Harbor-Maine, Cadillac mountain is one that you must visit. At this island, there are more to visit. We also visited one of the best light houses in the entire country. Next time I will be here at this place, I would choose during the Fall. The leaves would be awesome.

“Excellent Views”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

Excellent views from the summit. We enjoyed the views so much that this was almost a daily stop for us during our 5 day stay in Acadia. The first time was a stop to enjoy the view. It is easy to spend time up there. The next time we brought a picnic lunch to enjoy while taking in the views.
