I visited with a girl friend who had been before. We received a warm welcome and were shown to a very nice corner table where we were able to happily converse.
We had poppadums with all the accompaniements whilst we selected our dinner choices. For starters I had chicken chatt and she chose onion bhajis. Mine came beautifully prepared and tasted nice and lemony without being overpowering. My friend had 4 bhajis with salad and dressing.
I like my curry fairly hot so when I chose the "curry special" of mixed prawns, chicken and lamb I asked for it to come with a madras sauce. My friend had a simple chicken Korma. We ordered pilau rice, naan bread, sag panier (spinach and chees) and sag aloo (spinach and potato) as side dishes.
Mine was delicious - just the right amount of hotness but allowing the flavours to come through.
Hers was mild, creamy and sweet with almonds sprinkled on top which she enjoyed very much.
We were far too full to order dessert and I had to ask for a "doggy bag" but we did have coffee and mints.
We were offered complimentary after dinner drinks too which was a nice touch.
I will certainly be going again and would recommend it for people of all different curry tastes.
