We have found ellies to be great, lovely fresh food attentive friendly staff that nothing is too much trouble. The function room upstairs is great too showing all the local footballand ideal for functions. Events such as chester races and wine evenings are great too. Make sure u book as itsso popular it seems always full.

Slow service on numerous occasions despite not being busy, over half an hour for main course, drinks finished.Small portions, unattentive staff,no drink top up throughout meal.No interest in customers unless regulars. The menu remains much the same, dessert menu out of a box and poor choice! Make a complaint and there is no apology.Ignorant staff particularly one mail member .Wake up Ellies!

have been to this bar many times and always enjoyed went mid week the week before xmas, there were 10 of us in our group all women, there were also a numbe of other large groups in there as well all making a fair amount of noise, which is only to be epxected, we were all opening our secret santa presents which caused a lot of hilarity when the waiter came over and told us to be quiet. we were all stunned as it was noisy in there anyway and no-one else was taking any notice of us. we all came to the conclusion that as we spent over £400 between us next time we will take out money elsewhere where is is accepatable to be happy and a have a laugh

Very popular place to eat and drink, book early to avoid dissapointment. Food is always excellent, especially the ribs and Tapas. The upstairs function room is great for smaller parties being able to hold 70 ish people. Both my best mate and myself have held functions here during 2012 and were both really impressed with the food, drinks, staff and atmosphere. The management really helped with our requirements and nothing too much trouble. You must give it a try.
