The Gardjola Gardens is at the tip of the headland of peninsula where Senglea, Malta is found. In the gardens you will find the "eye and ear Vadette" which is an observation point installed in medieval times and from where you can enjoy spectacular views over Grand Harbour. Whenever you visit this lovely island you should make a point of stopping off here for 20 minutes of tranquility

This is a lovely location to wile away some time.

Located at the point of the Senglean peninsula, the gardens command a wonderful view of Grand Harbour, Valletta & the working dockyards.

Try and time your visit to catch a cruise ship arriving/departing - a truly awesome spectacle!!

Beautiful views from the garden, and the watchtower is special with its carved eyes and ears. Very relaxing in the sunshine when there are no tours!

The Gardjola gardens are a very good place to come to for a bit of peace, maybe even a picnic, if you get tired of the crowds and heat in Silema or Valletta. There might even be a breeze there too.

The iconic Gardjola ("watchtower"), as spectacular in reality as it looks in postcards, is on the edge of the gardens, hanging high over a sheer wall down to the sea, at the neck between the inner and outer parts of the Grand Harbour. From there you have what must be one of the most breathtaking views in the world.

There is a New ferry that takes you from Valletta to L - isla (Senglea) and Il - Birgu.
Its a 12 seated boat. It takes just about 7 minutes or less to get there.
This is a huge time saving compared to the bus that takes sometimes more than 60 minutes from Valletta to get there.
Great opportunity to save time when visiting the Inquisitors Palace, Maritime Museum or the
St. Lawrence Church on il - Birgu.

From the ferry terminal on Senglea, L - isla (opposite il - Birgu) its just a 3 - 4 minutes walk to the Gardjola Gardens.
directions to Ferry:
From Upper Barracca gardens take the lift down cross the cross-walk
and go left then follow the Ferry signs.
Its the same prize as the Sliema - Valletta ferry 1.50 € and its operated by the same company.
If you take the 2-way ticket that is 2.80 € you can use the same ticket for the lift back to the Upper Barracca gardens. that saves you a 1 € lift ticket.
I made a 2.30 hours walk around the 3 citys.
Its nice to walk because there are only a few tourists around there.
Beside that the streets in Senglea are not as clean as in Valletta ,
its still worth the visit.
If you like to visit the Churches make sure to check the opening times,
they were all closed on sunday afternoon when i was there.
