The house is perfect for those looking for a quiet getaway close to the beach and Norfolk's attractions. The garden is really lovely. If you have a couple of kids and a dog then the house ticks all the boxes. Our son has ASD which means he doesn't deal well with new places but he really like it. We're planning our next visit.
A perfectly presented seaside cottage with a lovely big garden.
The village itself was very peaceful and quaint. Everybody was very friendly.
If you are a dog owner then this is the place for you, every other person you meet seems to be walking a dog. The beach is dog friendly with rolling grass covered dunes to go rambling in.
We rented a Boat on the Norfolk Broads for a day (you can take your dog if you want) & I heartily recommend this.
If you want a bit more noise then Great Yarmouth is only 10 miles or so away.
I will 100% be going back next year.

third time at winterton first time at captains nook.captains nook is lovely cosy secluded cottage but also not to far away from beach and other amenities.the welcome tray was a nice surprise and also a pin t of milk which was handy after a long journey here.the smart tv was also a added bonus which helped when looking for local attractions etc.we all thoroughly enjoyed it and wouldnt hesitate on coming back.
Captain's Nook is a lovely little cottage in a pretty, quiet village. It's a short walk to the beach, to the chippy and to the pub.
The neighbours are all friendly and the owners are really helpful.
The cottage itself is quite small; it was a bit of a squeeze for the five of us plus dog, with bathroom downstairs. Parking is also tight but manageable.
The back garden is a sun trap - a great place to spend summer evenings. The outdoor games room is also a nice touch and will be really popular with kids under 10.
Cottage was very welcoming especially if you're taking a dog! 3 mins to the sea and about 90 seconds from the pub! Very friendly village. Beautiful garden and cottage well equipped. Would defiately re-visit.
