We were last at Burry Port Cottage over xmas, and we decided to go back
in March and hopefully get some better weather. The cottage was just as welcoming as it was at xmas and again it didn't take long to feel at home. The weather was better, and we got out and about on some nice walks one which was to Pembury Country Park which is a must. We also took the train to Tenby which was very pleasant and Daisy the dog I must say was most welcome on the train.
I can't praise this cottage enough it has everything one would need and more, everything is top quality.Again we found the local people really friendly and always ready to have a chat. Thanks again Richard for the goodies you left, very much appreciated, and you certainly picked my favourite wine. Hope to be back later in the year if not definitely next year.
Due to the awful weather we had during our stay what a relief that we were staying in Burry Port Cottage. Absolute gem. Felt at home as soon as we walked in. Xmas tree, holly decorations, plus a lovely hamper awaited us. There was also milk, tea and sugar too. Everything about the cottage is lovely. The kitchen has everything you need, extremely well equipped, and of a very high standard too. Every room including the bathroom was spotlessly clean and again all very high standard. Due to the weather we did not get out as planned, but what a relaxing break we had we felt so comfortable there. When we did go out the local people were so friendly always quick to say hello or stop to talk and fuss our dog Daisy who I might add also made herself at home. It would be nice to return during better weather and be able to spend some time in the lovely garden. I must also add that the Wifi was excellent. Thank you Richard for making it such a lovely stay, and letting us bring Daisy too.
Just me, the good lady and our Springer stayed for a week. Unfortunately we couldn't book the weather but the the cottage was ample compensation. The cottage was absolutely spotless on our arrival and I hope near spotless on our departure. Tea, sugar and milk awaited us on arrival.
Wifi, TV with freeview and a collection of board games were provided for our amusement but despite the inclement weather we ventured into The Gower and nearby Pembrey Country Park as well as the Burry Port beaches. Burry Port beaches are dog friendly and 5-10 minutes walk away and great for the mutt. The village is quiet at this time of year but that suited us.
Back to the cottage, the garden is wonderfully long and has a park bench and table for a good read and glass of vino and catches the afternoon sun beautifully, there were many sunny periods while we were there. On clear nights the view of the stars is fantastic, something we don't get in the city.
Communication from the owner, Richard, was timely and not intrusive. There is a security deposit to pay on the cottage, I cannot comment on the speed of repayment yet, it's only been 48 hours.
I'd come again.
