“All those special extra touches - A home from home.”
Reviewed April 6, 2009

This really is a fabulous B&B where the owner has really thought about what you need when you are away from home.

We stayed in Room 1 for two nights to celebrate my Birthday. The cottage is in the centre of the village of Eckington in between two pubs! You are greeted by the friendly and relaxed Susie and there is a decanter of sherry to warm you. The room has beautiful old stone floors and a woodburner to keep you cosy on the colder nights. The bed is also wonderfully comfy. Our room had an ensuite shower room with bath robes and lovely lotions. The only small complaint I have is that the shower, although hot, did lack some power. Otherwise, I really could not fault the accommodation at all.

There was a delicious home cooked breakfast in the morning also with homemade granola and fresh fruit. The eggs are from the chickens in the garden. Susie was helpful with suggestions for where to visit in the area.

The village is in a fabulous position for exploring the area. We spent time in the Vale of Evesham famed for it's asparagus and particularly beautiful in the springtime. Also, the Cotswolds with pretty villages and houses in Cotswold stone and the Malvern Hills. There are also plenty of towns nearby, could really have filled 2 weeks not just 3 days. We would also recommend walking to the top of nearby Bredon Hill for panoramic views of the area.

In terms of eating there seems to be plenty of village pubs but we ate at the Bell in Eckington, just a short stroll from Harrowfields, which had a modern interior and good quality traditional pub food. We also ate at Thai Legend in the nearby town of Pershore which was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Overall, I would recommend Harrowfields to anyone looking for a relaxing break away.
