We were attracted to Burngate Farm because we could take our Boxer dog "Ruby" and the location in west lulworth makes fantastic walking.

Better than East Lulworth as the village facilities are much nearer.

We walked the path recommentded by Sophie at the farm, had a great walk and stopped at "The Castle" pub for dinner. Very friendly and dog welcoming, lots to read and board games to play.

After the meal the walk to the farmhouse is just 3/4 of a mile.

Woke the next morning to the smell of freshly baked bread and had a fantastic breakfast.

A true "home from home"

We will be back - soon!

We booked a twin room at the top of the house . It was spacious with plenty of room for the baby's cot. We particularly appreciated the fridge with ample fresh milk for tea and hot drinks. The farmhouse was unpretentious and welcoming with a comfortable sitting-room to relax in. Breakfast was delicious with scrambled eggs, soda farls, fresh baked bread and yoghurt. The bacon was especially good. The location is great for a family holiday, castles, beaches and great walks all on the doorstep. The Weld Arms just down the road is good option for an evening meal.
Sophie and David are great hosts - friendly without being overwhelming

This is a lovely B&B, the rooms are fantastic - clean & well decorated, the place is easy to find & well situated if you are visiting Monkey Wolrd (which we were).
We stayed for one night & were really impressed - i would definitely go back again. We had a lovely homecooked breakfast the next day with also cereals, fruit, etc to choose from. This is an excellent choice & very reasonable price

We had a wonderful holiday at Burngate Farm. It was ages ago when we stayed there but having only discovered TripAdvisor fairly recently , I thought it was time to share my views on this B&B. The owners at the time were exceptionally welcoming. They provided us with a fantastic breakfast of either a full English, or kippers or poached eggs (my favourite). There was a wonderful family atmosphere in this B&B, it was friendly and comfortable. The owners were approachable and accommodating, but without being intrusive at breakfast time etc. They weren't nosy like some B&Bs I have stayed in but they showed an interest in us as guests and welcomed us. They also advised us on the best places to go locally for attractions, meals out, pubs etc. They were kind to us and ensured our stay was a very pleasant one. The room we stayed in was spacious, had a tv, ensuite, tea and coffee and also they provided fresh milk in the little fridge outisde our room. They also provided us with a water filter jug thing, ensuring that the tap water was more pleasant to drink. The rooms were clean, the decor was light and airy. Plenty of towels etc. I really enjoyed my holiday there.

Having seen the bad review below I was slightly concerned but decided to book anyway as their webpages showed nice rooms....and that's what we got. Don't be put off by the person that got double booked.
Our room was the smallest of the three but the other two were really spacious and light (I had a nosey!!). The furniture was classic, the room clean and the bathroom modern. There were all the items you could want such as fluffy white towels, a good shower and an extremely comfortable bed. The one item that was missing was a hair dryer, but luckily I'd packed a travel one.
The owners were very friendly and even gave a lift to one couple who didn't have a car with them, to a town over 10 miles away to save them waiting for public transport.
If you want somewhere relaxing and comfortable to stay for a good price, then this is the place.
P.S. the best pub for food we found was The Weld very close to Lulworth Castle.

We arrived to find the owners had double booked us - their 3 guest rooms were already occupied by other guests. Instead of telling us when we rang to say we were almost there, they waited unit we'd arrived & then put us up in their own bedroom for 1 night.

The guest rooms are lovely but they've clearly done up the guest rooms before they start on their own.

The room we stayed in was dusty, childrens clothes / nappies etc.. visible, photos on walls of children / people, own toiletries in bathroom.... we felt very uncomfortable, it was creepy staying in what was very clearly someone elses bedroom.

They have a large dog which they told us usually sleeps on the bed with them - consequently the room also smelt doggy.

We'd travelled to the Burngate Farm from Lancashire & it took hours to get there. We were both very disappointed when we arrived, I tried to find us somewhere else to stay but everywhere was booked up.

They even charged us the full rate for the night we spend in their room!

The other 2 nights we stayed in a proper guest room as another couple had checked out. These 2 nights were fine - room lovely.

The B&B is located at the top of a hill, its a good 20 min walk to the nearest pub & I'd guess at least 30 min walk to the coast.

What a gem! Can't believe there are not already hundreds of reviews for this B&B. The only reason I can think is that the owners are relatively new to the property (about 18 months I believe). The bedrooms and bathrooms have recently been renovated and are absolutely faultless!
There are three double rooms available (of which I believe one can be converted into a twin room). All three rooms are beautiful and it would be hard to pick which is the best! We had the attic room which was massive!
The bed was extremely comfortable and hard to get out of the next morning! All the bed linens were of high quality as were the towels (which there was an abundance of!) There are tea and coffee making facilities (Fairtrade products) in all rooms, televisions and books to read during your stay.
The rooms were spotlessly clean, lovely and warm on horribly cold and wet October day and it was so peaceful and quiet.
The breakfast was out of this world! Absolutely delicious! We had a huge choice of what to have from full English, kippers, porridge, cereals, home-made bread for toasting etc etc. We didn't need to eat again that day!
Perfectly situated for visiting all the local attractions including Monkey World, the Tank Museum, Tyneham and Lulworth Castle is literally just down the road and well worth a visit.
The lady that runs the B&B is so friendly. Really made us feel at home in her home. At only £60 for the room for the night this was such a bargain! We will definitely be staying here again!
