A memorable and restful stay in this well equipped and comfortable house.
The views are stunning,as though one had stepped into a constable painting. We loved watching the deer grazing in the fields opposite and enjoyed the changing colours of the autumn trees in the forestry.
The house itself is well equipped ,with a full kitchen, comfortable beds and underfloor heating ensuring a warm and cosy atmosphere.
Very well placed to enjoy beautiful walks in the woods or along the many spectacular beaches at Lulworh Cove.

“Fully equipped home from home!”

We had a week at The Pink House at the end of June. The weather was a mixed bag with quite a few rainy days and some nice sunny days in between. The property was very well equipped with everything you could possibly think of needing and was comfortably furnished throughout. The beds had lovely plump pillows and duvets and were quite comfortable even with a bad back! The only downside was the teeny weeny bath in the bathroom which is really only suitable for children - but no room for a normal size one so you're restricted to the shower. I was determined to have a soak though so I did get in the bath albeit with my knees under my chin lol!! Towels, tea towels, cleaning products all provided. The owners also provided a welcome pack with basics including nice biscuits and a bottle of wine. The house is semi-detached and located in a row of half a dozen or so other residential properties down a dead end road. Parking is a bit tight but we only had one car so it was fine. Unfortunately the neighbours (not attached) just happened to have some sort of construction project on in the back garden whilst we were there so it was a little noisy for a few days at times and several of the neighbours have dogs that bark at any comings and going so our dog responded when he was in the garden too. But it wasn't a problem as such - just might not be for everyone if you're expecting middle of nowhere quietness! It was great to be able to walk right from the door with the dog and there are some nice country views. We enjoyed walking through the local MOD Firing Range & Abandoned Village of Tyneham when open at the weekend. Also spent a nice day at Corfe Castle - fantastic views from the ruins. Lulworth cove was too busy for us daytime and is only tiny so we just took a peek in the evening when it was empty. Durdle Door was also manic and expensive for parking if you only wanted a quick visit plus a long walk down loads of steps to get to the cove. However we drove to Studland Bay a couple of days and had a lovely time on the beach. Also walked on the Heath there. The bay is divided into 3 main beaches and we preferred the south beach. There is a National Trust cafe there and shop, toilets, showers, water sports etc. The sea is very calm and gently shelving and perfect for swimming and messing about in the water. On a wet day we drove to Portland and saw Portland Bill. Then had tea and cake at the Heights Hotel overlooking Portland and Weymouth watching the rain clear and amazing views suddenly appear! All in all a nice week in a lovely family home. Just shame about the weather!

“Probably our best family holiday ever!”

The Pink House is a completely lovely place to spend a week! It is super-clean and well maintained with everything you could need, and decorated beautifully with lots of interesting nick nacks, books, board games, mobiles and pictures. There was plenty of space for our family of six + dog.
The house is in a very quiet location facing a field in which we regularly saw deer grazing in the evening. However, it is less than 10 minutes drive from beautiful (but busy) Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. There is loads to do in the area, more than you could fit into a week. We would have liked to spend more time just walking near the cottage but simply couldn't fit it in.
A highlight of our trip was the walk from Lulworth to Mupe Bay (the pink folder in the house gives lots of ideas for walks such as this and also restaurants etc... which you wouldn't know about without local knowledge). Mupe Bay is not accessible by car and it takes about an hour to walk there (a very beautiful walk it is too) so there is hardly anyone there ever - and it's simply breathtaking.
We had a lovely meal at the local pub, The Weld Arms which is just a walk away from The Pink House. We'd recommend The Lulworth Cove Inn for a great family meal (both of these pubs are dog friendly as most places in Dorset seem to be!)
Monkey World is only 15 mins away and is a fabulous, good value day out.
All in all, we heartily recommend The Pink House as a family holiday destination - we could not have had a better week.

“Relaxing family holiday in lovely rural localtion”

Three generations (7 adults) and Two dogs shared the house between Christmas and New Year. The house had been decorated with Christmas Tree and we were delighted to find wine, mince pies and chocolate biscuits waiting for us.

The house was clean and tidy and exactly as described. We used the small room downstairs as a bedroom for my elderly mum. All the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of towels available in the bathroom

The house had the best equipped kitchen we have ever been in, including a food processor. We took it in turns to cook every night and appreciated the dishwasher. Tablets for dishwasher, washing up liquid etc were all included and there was foil, cling film all the sorts of things that you forget!

The lounge was a bit cramped with 7 adults but if you did not have the bed up in the other room there would be plenty of room.
The TV is very small and not everyone can see it. Not a problem for us as we only really had it on to watch the countdown and fireworks on New Years eve!
We did have a powercut while we were there for a whole day and the house is all electric. There was a gas cooker in the shed but we did not discover it until afterwards.
Debbie's neighbour was lovely and offered to make us a kettle of hot water for drinks. We also had 3 cars and she did not mind the Smart Car over her side for a couple of days.

The weather was very wet and windy, the Range walks were very muddy and we chose to drive into Durdle Door to walk the dogs where they would not get so dirty. In good weather, there are wonderful walks on the doorstep.

The garden is safe for the dogs and would be good for children too.

We loved the quirky decorations around the house, lovely wall hangings and pictures, beautiful mosaic mirrors

Debbie was available by text, email or phone if there were any issues.

Do make sure that you write down the keybox code before you arrive. We discovered we had not done so and had to hook up to the wifi outside the house to find the email with the details!

We are talking about going back in the better weather to enjoy the walks and scenery.

Debbie has got plans to make the house even better over the next few months we will look forward to seeing the changes on our next visit.

The house is ideally located for exploring Lulworth Castle and the surrounding area. The owners were very helpful which made our stay even more enjoyable.

“Peaceful, quirky holiday home with everything you need”

A lovely spacious cottage with a secluded rear garden with herbs and BBQ just outside the back door and far reaching views over fields at the front. Much thought has gone into providing everything needed for a holiday - lots of china, glasses, cutlery - along with ample comfy seating and soft duvets. Delightful, individual decoration with items from the owners' travels and mirrors and soft furnishings handmade by the owner and her family which made it feel like a real home rather than a holiday let. On arrival there was a beautiful flower arrangement with a bottle wine on the table, milk in the fridge and coffee, tea and very scrummy shortbread. There were also tea towels, dishcloths etc and basics for cooking and the house was absolutely spotless. The area is stunning with lots to see and do. The local pub does fabulous food, Lulworth Cove has fresh lobster and crab to take away and there's an amazing farm shop nearby. A great place for a holiday!
