“Fantastic place! Will definitely come again”
Reviewed January 25, 2014 via mobile

We visited Lulworth Cove Inn after a good walk over from Durdle Door and we loved it from the moment we stepped in! You can't miss it, it is in the centre of little Lulworth. Very comfy modern country style, we found two big leather chairs in the corner right beside a beautiful glowing log burner. It was busy but didn't feel over crowded and the staff were friendly and efficient, serving everyone nice and quick with a smile on their faces! Some lovely well behaved dogs were also enjoying he pub. We stayed their longer than planned as we were so comfy, we sampled some great coffee and the local cider which was fab! It's even possible to take away some bottles as a take out! Our only regret is we didn't eat here, the food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. This is one of the many reasons behind why we will be returning to Lulworth Cove Inn very very soon!!

I stayed here with my partner on the first Thursday in January and had an amazing time. The atmosphere downstairs for the meal was lovely, really laid back but friendly. Our room was beautiful and there were so many lovely touches like lip balm and clever gadgety things in the bathroom! The bed is officially the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in and I could have stayed for so much longer. Stunning location and the most welcoming and helpful staff who helped make it an extra special stay. Thank you!

We stayed for one night in Jan 14, and loved it. It has had a recent major refurbishment and the attention to detail is fantastic - loved details such as loads of plug points around the room (hurrah!); blue floor level lamp in the loo/shower room that comes on automatically as you enter, (making it unnecessary to switch the light on in the night and wake your partner); great shower; lovely individual coffee mugs and lots of teas/coffees and biscuits, fantastically comfortable mattress (but the bed springs under it were a touch squeaky); lovely individual decor to the rooms.

The bar/restaurant area was also lovely; the photos on the Inn's own website don't really do it justice.

The staff are all very pleasant and helpful; the food was fine and we think excellent value. We would completely disagree with one or two reviewers who felt the food was 'boil in the bag' standard - the food we had was great, not fine dining but clearly made on site and well presented - high end pub food, rather than fine dining! - perfect! Reasonable wine list at sensible prices. Breakfast was lovely, with good choice of cooked and continental available. If we have to find something to criticize, I suppose we could say that the service was a little intermittent at times (eg slow to take pudding order by which time none was wanted, slow to take breakfast order) - not actually an issue but just slightly noticeable. We were not in a rush anyway!

I am sure we will be back and would definitely recommend it to friends. And of course, the area is, as always, stunning. Just don't tell everybody...!

We stayed here between Christmas and the new year ...our 2nd time this year as we love Lulworth cove.

We adore the bedrooms, location and staff! The bar and surroundings, decor fab! But my only criticism is the food ,the food could be better!

But overall we love it at the Inn and will be going back as Easter!

We stayed here for two nights between Christmas and New year and had a really good time. The recent renovations are first class and our room was decorated with lots of little quirky bits and pieces making it feel individual and special. The shower room had its own highlights such as little blue lights that came on as you entered, a lovely shower and huge fluffy white towels. There was such a variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate in our room (together with biscuits), we didn't know which to try first!
This Inn is in a first class location too, with a two minute walk to the sea at Lulworth Cove and a good hard walk along to Durdle Door.
We definitely want to visit again and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to our family and friends.

Room Tip: We had a seaview double room which had a lovely big kingsize bed. No balcony but we wouldn't hav...

We stayed here for two nights over new year and it was very memorable. Our room (11) had a great view of the Cove and as the weather was, ahem, wet and windy, to say the least, it made for a very atmospheric stay. Really nice touches in the room: lovely bed and linen; plentiful tea, coffee, water, biscuits. Toiletries nice (although there could have been a top-up on day two) and a great shower.

The inn itself is staff by very friendly, helpful people. Food for breakfast is great (go the whole hog for the traditional breakfast, including black pudding!) and dinner is reasonable. In fact, the Badger beer-coated fish (and chips) was one of the best fish and chips dinners we have ever had in a pub - sublime! The steak and ale pie is one to recommend, too. Be sure to sample the Badger beers - very tasty.

This is a great inn and in a lovely location by the sea. Ideal for walking parts of the SW coast path. We walked 7-8 miles (luckily the weather was good-ish on NYE!) over the cliffs to Durdle Door and back inland - challenging but great views.

Definitely somewhere to stay - and as the hotel has recently had a face lift, everything is pretty neat. Take advantage of the entertainment options on the TV if you fancy a relaxing afternoon in your room.

Room Tip: Go for a sea-view room - and on the top floor to make it a quieter stay.

This was my first stay at a Hall & Woodhouse Inn. They are a touch more expensive than average but that's ok because average is not a word that applies.
Quality, comfort and cleanliness are combined with nostalgic quirkiness and humour along with warm, friendly staff who serve you with efficiency and enthusiasm.
The Lulworth Cove Inn was fully refurbished early in 2013 presumably one of the reasons being that a bedroom was incomplete without a large flat screen TV, state of the art shower, stuffed badger, a couple of oars and a keep net.
